I don't know if this is a bug, or...whatever, but almost every time i log in, I see that the news board has been modified...yesterday, so I check it, and not only has it not been modified, or so it looks, but it doesn't even show the most recent modification of the CL's resigning. Does anyone else know what is going on? Has anyone else seen this?

The CL's have returned, find that topic under the news and announcements board. The news file was modified yesterday evening, US time, so if you haven't logged in since then, it would show that the file has indeed been updated.

Yes, the news file shows up even if there's only a slight correction like a spelling error. It threw me the first time it happened to me. So if it doesn't look like it's been updated, it has, but only slightly.

When I logged in this morning, it showed neither that the CL's have returned, nor that they resigned last week.

It just has a list of current CLs, but I don't think it mentions their return or departure.

When the news first broke of them resigning, there was a very short item in the news file saying something like "3 CL's have resigned. click here to find out more" with a link to the topic in the news and announcements board. But for reasons not known to many, the item was mysteriously removed a few days later. Yesterday, there was no mention in the news file of the CL's returning. The only reason why the news file came up was because at the bottom, the list of current CL's was updated to show that the 3 had returned. There is, however, a topic under the news and announcements board that talks about them coming back.

Yes, when we resigned last week, a blurb was put in the news file about that. Chris took it down several days later, seeing no need for it to remain there, so once again, it would have shown as being updated. When we were reinstated yesterday, the file was updated, re-adding our names to the CL team. the Professional is correct, the file will show as updated even if something as simple as editing is going on. Sorry for the inconvenience. It can be annoying sometimes, I know.

That's ok. I just thought maybe it may have randomly showing up for no apparent reason. The changes were so minimal that I, and many others I hear, didn't notice.

I'm not sure exactly how the news file is updated as i'm not a part of the staff, but if it's updated via a web interface, perhaps there should be a checkbox that says "do not show updates to users upon next login".

Just a suggestion.

That's a good idea. I wonder if anyone will ever code it. haha.

Yeah, but like a lot of other suggestions, this probably requires an admin'''

Exactly Rob. I wish we had that feature as well. LOL

Yes, Rob, it does. Though I'll suggest that to Chris, as I agree it's a good idea.

I also agree it's a good idea.
